Tyler Towers, 600 SW 14th Street, is located on the same site that includes Polk Plaza and the 10 Polk Cottages. It is about six blocks southwest of the State Capital on a one square block of land that was cleared after a tornado ripped through the heart of the City, in 1966. There is a pleasant and leisure feel to this campus of mature trees, winding sidewalks, park benches and picnic tables. Tyler Towers has been designated as a Seniors Site by THA's Board of Commissioners.
Pictured below is the Resident Council at one of its monthly meetings in the 9th floor Community Room. This Community Room is also a Congregate Meal site for the Meals on Wheels program that serves both Tyler Towers and Polk Plaza. Tyler Towers has a billiards room and a library on the first floor.
A computer lab, which is connected to the internet, has been recently developed by the Tyler Towers residents. The Tyler Towers Residents Association meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 2:00 PM. For information about meetings, contact Arnold Downing Sr. at (785) 357-8842 extension 116.
